Family Learning at HFSE: LAYCL Session Builds Maths Confidence

Strengthening Family Learning Through Shared Experiences

HFSE International School held a meaningful LAYCL session, designed to promote Family Learning. Parents and children came together to learn side by side, showing how education can be a shared journey. LAYCL, which stands for Learn As Your Child Learns, reflects the school’s commitment to building strong partnerships between home and school.

Families experienced learning in a lively and collaborative way. Instead of quiet, individual work, the room was filled with interaction, discussion, and shared discovery. Both parents and children gained a clearer view of how learning happens.

Turning Mathematics into a Shared Journey

The session focused on Mathematics, but it went beyond solving problems. Parents and children worked together, shared strategies, and celebrated small successes. Even simple achievements, like solving a question, brought excitement and connection.

The aim was not only to find the right answer. The emphasis was on understanding the process of learning. This approach built confidence, especially for students who benefit from guidance and encouragement at home.

Building Confidence Through Collaboration

When parents join their child’s learning, it creates a strong support system. Families explored concepts, asked questions, and discovered new ways to face challenges.

Parents also gained insight into teaching methods used in class. This helped them support their children after school hours. At the same time, children felt encouraged and motivated by learning alongside their parents.

The session strengthened both academic confidence and family connection. It highlighted how Family Learning empowers children when parents are actively involved.

A Community That Learns Together

The success of the LAYCL session shows the value of community in education. Learning becomes more meaningful when shared. At HFSE International School, parents are seen as active partners in the journey.

Through initiatives like LAYCL, the school creates opportunities for families to connect and grow together. These shared experiences build trust, strengthen relationships, and support holistic development.

Growing Together Through Meaningful Learning

The LAYCL session reminded families that education is not limited to the classroom. It extends into the home and grows stronger through collaboration. By embracing Family Learning, HFSE reinforces the idea that education is a shared journey.

Programmes like LAYCL play an important role in shaping confident and engaged learners. More importantly, they show how Family Learning builds stronger bonds and supports growth in every form.
